DR SAM MORCOM

Dr. Sam Morcom is a compassionate Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon with expertise in adult and paediatric care.

Sam gained broad experience in ENT surgery across Queensland and Victoria before completing advanced subspecialty training in Head & Neck and Thyroid surgery in London.

Following his schooling in Brisbane, Sam completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland. He began his career in ENT surgery working at the Sunshine Coast and the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital before moving to Victoria for his surgical training. Sam received extensive training in adult and paediatric ENT surgery across a number of Victorian hospitals including The Alfred Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, before being awarded his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

Motivated by his experiences caring for patients with head and neck cancer, Sam pursued an international Head and Neck Fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, one of the UK’s top centres for head and neck oncology. He spent 18 months in London, which allowed him to gain advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in managing complex cases of thyroid, oral cavity, and head and neck cancer.

Sam is dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care through multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice. His surgical philosophy prioritises open communication, patient education, and shared decision-making, allowing patients to make informed choices about their treatment. By fostering strong relationships with patients and their families, he aims to provide not only exceptional clinical outcomes but also a positive and supportive healthcare experience. He remains up to date with current practice through regular attendance at conferences and courses.

Sam has a public appointments at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Tweed Valley Hospitals, where he attends the Head & Neck Cancer and Thyroid Cancer multidisciplinary meetings regularly

Returning to the Gold Coast to be closer to family and friends, Sam enjoys spending his free time walking on the beach with his fiancé, Gemma, and their beloved cocker spaniel, Snoopy.
