Dr Nicholas Phillips is a paediatric and adult ENT surgeon who enjoys all aspects of ENT and has advanced training in Rhinology, Thyroid/Parathyroid, Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) surgery

Nick is known for his empathetic approach and dedication to patient education. He has a strong interest in;

An Australian fellowship trained Otolaryngologist (ENT) Head and Neck Surgeon, Nick was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and obtained his Bachelor of Science (Biomedical) and subsequently his Medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2012.

After attaining Fellowship in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons he went on to complete subspecialty training in Snoring and Sleep Apnoea for children and adults with world renowned Professor Stuart MacKay in Wollongong. During this time he received additional training in advanced sinus surgery and thyroid/parathyroid surgery.

Nick is actively involved in clinical research. He completed his Masters of Surgery at the University of Sydney in 2019 and was awarded a high distinction for his dissertation in thyroid cancer. Nick was awarded the Frank Szallasi research prize during his ENT training. He has authored multiple international publications, been an invited speaker on the topic of sleep apnoea and presented at the national and international level. Nick has also been an investigator in several device trials for obstructive sleep apnoea.

As a senior lecturer within the faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland, Nick is committed to educating the next generation of medical professionals. His passion for medical education extends to mentoring junior doctors and training ENT registrars. Nick has also received an Outstanding teaching Award from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Nick’s goal is to provide the highest level of care to all his patients in all aspects of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery. Nick believes in the importance of clear communication and sensitivity to all issues affecting patients and cares deeply about their outcomes. Nick has public appointments at Gold Coast University and Tweed Valley Hospital and attends multidisciplinary head and neck cancer clinics.
