Dr Nicholas Phillips is a paediatric and adult ENT surgeon who has advanced training in Rhinology, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, as well as procedures for Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) surgery.

After attaining Fellowship in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, Nick completed advanced subspecialty training in Snoring and Sleep Apnoea surgery for both children and adults under the mentorship of world-renowned Professor Stuart MacKay in Wollongong. During this period, he also received additional training in advanced sinus surgery and thyroid/parathyroid surgery.

Nick is deeply involved in clinical research and holds a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded a High Distinction for his dissertation on thyroid cancer. During his ENT training, he earned the prestigious Frank Szallasi Research Prize. His extensive research includes multiple international publications, and he has been an invited speaker on sleep apnoea, as well as a presenter at both national and international conferences covering topics such as sleep apnoea, thyroid cancer, and paediatrics. Nick has been an investigator in hypoglossal nerve stimulation device trials for obstructive sleep apnoea and co-authored chapters in the forthcoming edition of the “Sleep Apnea and Snoring” textbook.

As a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland’s Faculty of Medicine, Nick is committed to medical education, actively mentoring junior doctors and training ENT registrars. He was honoured with an Outstanding Teaching Award from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Nick was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, earning both his Bachelor of Science (Biomedical) and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees from the University of Queensland. His mission is to deliver the highest standard of care across all aspects of ENT, head, and neck surgery. With a strong focus on clear communication and sensitivity to patients’ needs, Nick is passionate about improving outcomes for his patients. He holds public appointments at Gold Coast University and Tweed Valley Hospitals, and participates in multidisciplinary head and neck cancer clinics.
